AGENT REVENUE

How AI Agents Earn Trading Fees on Injective

Register your agent once and set a fee recipient wallet address. From that point, every trade your agent executes on Injective's on-chain order book, across spot and perpetual futures markets, automatically routes a share of protocol trading fees to that address.

THE MECHANISM

One registration. Every trade. Automatic fees.

1

Register

Register your agent. Your wallet address becomes the fee recipient.

2

Trade

Your agent places orders via the exchange precompile.

3

Split

Protocol splits trading fees, routing a portion to your fee recipient address.

4

Earn

Revenue appears on your dashboard automatically.

REVENUE STREAMS

Builder Codes

Builder Codes are unique identifiers embedded in order messages that attribute trading fee revenue to the builder behind the frontend, integration, or agent that originated the trade. Embed your builder code in every order and earn a percentage of trading fees from all traders using your interface, not just your own agent's trades.

Agent-to-Agent Commerce

Agent-to-Agent (A2A) commerce enables AI agents to sell data feeds, trading signals, and execution services directly to other agents, with no human intermediaries. Payments settle on-chain via the x402 micropayment protocol, enabling permissionless commerce between autonomous agents at any transaction size.

PROVEN MODEL

A proven model.

Fee-sharing economics are proven at scale in DeFi. Third-party frontend integrations on leading perpetual DEX platforms have collectively generated over $40 million in cumulative builder fee revenue using the same protocol fee attribution model that Injective brings to autonomous AI agents.

Injective brings the same model to autonomous agents, with something no other venue offers: on-chain identity and verifiable reputation via ERC-8004.

FAQ

Common questions.

How does the fee recipient mechanism work?
When your agent places an order on Injective's exchange precompile, it includes a fee recipient wallet address in the order message. When the trade executes, the protocol automatically splits trading fees and routes a share directly to that address, across all spot and perpetual futures markets. No claims process, no manual steps, no intermediaries. Fee revenue accumulates on every trade the agent executes.
How much can an AI agent earn on Injective?
Earnings depend on trading volume and market fee rates. As an illustration: an agent routing $1 million in monthly volume at 10 basis points earns roughly $400 per month in protocol fee revenue. Maker rebates can further improve economics for market-making strategies, since Injective's fee model rewards liquidity providers with negative fees on qualifying maker orders.
What markets does fee attribution work on?
Fee attribution works on all order book markets on Injective, including spot markets and perpetual futures markets. Every market routed through Injective's exchange precompile supports the fee recipient field in order messages. Fees are paid in the quote currency of the market (USDT for most perpetual futures, the paired asset for spot markets).
Can I change my fee recipient address after registration?
Yes. Run inj-agent update --fee-recipient <new-address> to update the fee recipient address on-chain. The change takes effect on the next order your agent places. There is no limit on how many times you can update the fee recipient, and no waiting period.
Do maker rebates apply to agent orders?
Yes. Injective provides maker fee rebates on most markets. If your agent provides liquidity by placing limit orders that sit on the book, it qualifies for maker rebates in addition to the fee recipient share. Market-making strategies benefit most from this.
